Dalton Piercy Parish

Dalton Piercy is a small village situated some 6 miles from Hartlepool town, in Teesside, north-east England; it should perhaps be better described as a hamlet, in that it has no central building around which it developed, such as a church, inn or similar.

The main village centres around our village green where you will find the village pond to the west, our Noticeboard and defibrillator to the centre, the Village Hall, village allotments, play area and finally Dalton Beck to the east which leads to 'The Batts' an area of low lying land owned by the Parish Council and managed as a wildlife area.

The nearest village is Elwick, a one-mile walk north via a footpath across the fields, or a 2-mile drive.  This is where you will find our local school; St Peter's CE Primary School, Elwick.

Dalton Piercy village has 135 properties in total, most of which cluster around the registered village green. To the west, before the A19 dual carriageway are a cluster of homes in an area known as Three Gates.  Five cul-de-sacs of late 20th/early 21st century housing branch off the main road through the village, where the village green and historic buildings can be found; these are Abbots Lea, College Close, Dalton Heights, Highgate Meadows and Manor Fields.  

To the east, closer to Hartlepool there are a number of farm buildings, outlying homes and a caravan and holiday park.
